Join me in my efforts to support Parkinson Society British Columbia!

September brings with it cooler weather, back to school, and SuperWalk, the annual activity focused on fundraising to support the amazing work Parkinson Society BC does advocating for the 15000+ citizens of BC who struggle to manage this insidious progressive disease.

I continue to do everything I can to maintain my functionality ~ several exercise classes a week, yoga, walking, boxing, and this year we also added dancing! Yes, there is "progression" of those tremors, twitches, aches and pains, but I'm fighting back as best I can.

Parkinsonís disease is the second most common neurodegenerative disease after Alzheimer's and can manifest itself in a range of both motor and non-motor symptoms. Living with Parkinsonís can be incredibly challenging for the individual as well as their family, friends and care partners.

Garry has taken on the role of Chairperson of our local support group, and I'm in my third year as Secretary. Volunteering my time and energy is the least I can do, while I can still "do." And Garry is a terrific caregiver and "encourager." I don't get away with anything!

All contributions, no matter how big or how small, are critical to those affected by Parkinsonís. I hope youíll support my walk this year and help me reach my fundraising goal.

Your donation will help Parkinson Society British Columbia continue to provide valuable programs and services and fund further research. Every dollar is one step closer to improving the lives of those in need.

Last year the Kelowna team, as well as my Good Vibrations women's support team, raised the most money of any group in the province! Yay Kelowna ~ let's do that again!

Thank you for your support and caring,
Love ~ Debbie
